Ep. 160 ~ Katya Rakhmatulina, Colorado Trail FKT

Katya Rakhmatulina just won the 2023 Colorado Trail Race and set a new FKT in the process. With a time of 5d 1h 53m she beat the previous time of 6d 1h 34m set by Alexandera Houchin in 2019. Prior to this she placed Second at this years Tour Divide behind Lael Wilcox.

The Colorado Trail Race is one of bikepackings hardest courses. It’s 527 miles, over 70,000′ of climbing, on a trail that is best described as a hiking trail. The weather and terrain change constantly making for challenging riding conditions from start to finish. Just completing it is a huge accomplishment for anyone, setting a new FKT is something to be celebrated, and shared on a podcast. Listen to Katya’s journey to the top on today’s episode.
