Dylan’s name has come up on the podcast many times and many of you have sent in request to have him on the show. Is it because he is heir to a salt empire? Maybe it’s his epic mustache? Or his high level mechanic skills? Seeking answers to some of these tough questions I pointed my van in the direction of Arkansas to meet up with this international man of mystery at the Meteor Cafe in Bentonville, AR.

Another year of Bikes or Death in the books and man, what a year it was! Three-hundred and sixty five days of going new places, meeting incredible people and riding our damn bikes. We sincerely hope you enjoyed the ride as we got to chat with some truly inspirational guests and hopefully you learned a little more about us, yourselves and bikepacking.
Two things I love are my kids and bikepacking, combining the two is both challenging and rewarding, which sums up parenthood quite succinctly. I know the value that comes from time in the natural world, exploring it and yourself, and I feel the calling to pass that along to my children.
On today’s episode I get to meet Ally Johnson who is taking the reins over at Bikepacking Roots. She was hired in October, but we wanted to give her a little time to get acquainted with her new role before having her on. Ally brings with her an impressive academic resume.

I’m honored to have this years Arkansas High Country Winner, and new Women’s FKT holder, back on the podcast. Scotti Lechuga completed this years race in 5d, 10h, 49m, besting everyone in the field.
The Monumental Loop is the brainchild of Matt Mason. He came to Las Cruces, NM in 2009 at a time when there was a lot of debate about the future use of the 500,000+ acres of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument that surround Las Cruces. To familiarize himself more with the land in question Matt set off on foot to explore and learn about, and from, the land. Even as an experienced thru-hiker Matt found most of the land inaccessible due to the vast desert and lack of resources.
