ETS ’26 “Bikes are Magic”

Musings from Brett Boles, the designer, has he was conjuring up this design:

The forest is trying to kill you. The road is trying to kill you. Big diesel trucks are trying to kill you. A war has been waging for longer than you have been alive.

Shadows shifting. Mist misting. The creeks run red and you know their blood is yours. Fear rises like the squealing of a herd of hogs. Voices whisper sweet sounds urging you to stop. But bikes are magic motherfucker. You are a wizard. You have magical powers. Tell those voices to shove it and RIDE.

The forest loves you. The road loves you. Diesel trucks don’t exist. Pedal by pedal you sing a song. All things sing in harmony. Sunlight shines on your skin.

Descending down old paths you are connected to those who came before you. Joy rises like a pine Siskin taking flight. Bikes are magic motherfucker.

You are a wizard. You have magical powers. Ride your bike and sing your song.

About the Shirt:

These shirts were born from the duality of the East Texas Showdown. They capture that heavy, hollow moment of despair in the deep of the night: when the woods feel infinite and the legs feel empty and the sudden, soaring realization that follows when the sun breaks. In that light, magic feels real.

Appropriately, these were created using a hybrid cyanotype and linocut process, meaning the design was hand carved and then ink dyeing the shirts was developed by the East Texas sun. Each shirt is a unique record of the light we chase.
