Hello internet friends

This blog needs a proper introduction…

BIKES, Bikes, bikes – For me cycling is simply an extension of what I did as a kid.  My mom would kick my brother and I out of the house in the morning and we weren’t allowed back inside until dinner.  I was fortunate enough to grow up in a town at a time when you could set out on your bike with your brother and go exploring all day on your bike.  To this day, every time I throw a leg over a bike I get a little bit of that same excitement I remember from childhood.

My other passion is the outdoors.  Again, ever since I was a kid all I wanted to do was be outside exploring.  We lived in a neighborhood but were lucky enough to have a large backyard with a hill that went down to a creek with a large green space behind our home.  My brother and I spent days…years of our lives building jumps and berms in the backyard.  We also built a pretty sweet trail system in the green space behind our house that included a hide out and gathering circle.

I was a Boy Scout and that afforded me opportunities to go on a lot of camping trips in Texas State Parks and a couple out of state trips to the Wind Rivers in Wyoming and the Mountains of Colorado.  These trips left a lasting impression on me and have instilled in me a need to find myself in places like that as often and for as long as I can.

Now that I’m a little older I can see that who I am now is very much a combination of all of those experiences growing up.

Life is an adventure and I intend to make the most of it.  I hope to share as much of that with you as I can…

Thanks for reading.
